Guest Blog: We, The People Are…Slaves, Nimrods, And Living In Fear Because of Our Government

Good day everyone, I sit here writing this with a hint of anger, frustration, and rage.  All of these emotions stem from being unheard by the United States of America. How is it that the citizens form this government, yet our government isn’t for us anymore?  The government should be for the people not the people for the government. There are thousands maybe millions of Americans that feel the same way about this country. Some people may feel that I’m not a true patriot; between the wars, the economy, and the all seeing eye of Big Brother, I am not. Why would I cheer on a country that was founded by terrorists?  Terrorists, who admittedly kidnapped people, forced them into slavery, stripped foreign lands of minerals, robbed native people of their land, and incited genocide of those same native people.  Today this country is still engaging in terrorist acts by invading other countries and forcing “the American way” on other cultures. We need a change; I am not talking about President Obama’s hope campaign, something more extreme, and something that will help the common man.

Did you know that America has been at war since October 7, 2001, in Afghanistan looking for an invincible boogieman, Osama Bin Laden?  Saddam Hussein was found in a dessert in the middle of Iraq, and I will speak of that “revenge war” later, but we still can’t find Bin Laden.  However, back to Afghanistan, America has been at war for almost ten years.  President Obama took troops out of Iraq just to place more troops in Afghanistan. Why give half of the truth about ending the war in Iraq just to move more troops to Afghanistan? Are we really still looking for terrorists or trying to police this country?  At this point it seems to me that U.S. forces are the real terrorists in Afghanistan. What have we accomplished?  Deceased troops, mentally unstable troops, and our country in a depression/recession due to ten years at war.  I want our government to be honest with us, what is this war really about?  Why are we still in that country? President Obama states U.S. Troops will be withdrawn from Afghanistan by July of 2011, let’s see how that works out. Moving on to my favorite war of this past decade, the Iraq War, aka “The revenge war to take Saddam out because my father couldn’t.” This war has had many names; one of my favorites is “Operation Iraqi Freedom.”  The invasion of Iraq happened March 20, 2003. Bush went against U.N. disapproval to invade Iraq.  Benjamin Ferencz, a former chief prosecutor of the Nuremberg Trials, argued that for these actions Bush, along with his Administration, could be prosecuted for war crimes. War crimes, this doesn’t sound like terrorism?  Troops invaded Iraq in the dead of night and bombed Baghdad. That doesn’t sound like a savage of some kind raiding villages in medieval times?  Nazis used the same tactic, we look at them as monsters, but when President Bush approves of this we cheer on as humans are viciously murdered.  Great, that’s the American way.  Speaking of the American way, how was the U.S. government trying to set up democracy in another country when the U.S. was and still is a slow melting pod?  Is that how Freedom works? That’s like me going to talk care of my neighbor’s family and letting my own be starved.  May 1, 2003 President Bush addressed the world with the great “Mission Accomplished” speech.  Troops never found large quantities of weapons that the Iraqi regime was believed to possess. President Bush stated, “It is true that much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong.” This war was still fought on in vain. This is our government when it comes to war, carelessly spending taxpayers’ money on useless warfare in order to have their hands in another country’s affairs.  Is it for oil?  Is it to have control in countries surrounding Iran? (FYI: Iraq is to the west and Afghanistan is to the east of Iran, interesting.)  Being at war for the past ten years has cost this country between 1 and 3 trillion dollars.  Think about that the next time you look at the increasing taxes being withheld from your paycheck.

Our government’s efforts to protect citizens from terrorism and war touching U.S. soil come with a price. Citizens pay in the form of freedom, earned wages, future security, and freedom of individual thought. Does anyone know what the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001, aka The USA PATRIOT act is?  This act gives our government access to search telephone, e-mail, medical, financial, and other records if U.S. officials believe that a person is a terrorist inside U.S. borders. Feel safe yet?  This act conflicts with the 4th amendment, which guards unreasonable search and seizures.  This amendment also requires search and arrest warrants be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause. Hey, if the government believes that you’re a terrorist it’s okay to tap your cellular phone?  Isn’t this scary that our government puts fear in our mind causing us to over look things like the USA PATRIOT act? The act that allows the invasion of our privacy if need be.  Big Brother is watching…Hm. The price citizens pay to feel safe, our privacy and freedom.

George W. the same man you appointed to be president. The same man that said “I know the human beings and fish can coexist peacefully.” “Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.” “Then you wake up at the high school level and find out that the illiteracy level of our children are appalling.” We actually trusted this man that said these foolish comments with our hard earn tax dollars?  The same man that believed Social Security wasn’t needed for elders.  Congress’ budget analysts estimated that Social Security funds would be depleted in 2052, and something had to be done to save the program. Republicans even argued that the trust fund had already been spent for other purposes, with no plan to pay it back, and that Social Security would run out of funds by 2018.  I wonder what our Social Security funds were spent on, a war or two? These funds are citizen earned funds that the government saves for retirement via social security, but this program is almost depleted. We have to work until we die, great, looking forward to that. Unemployment in January of 2009 rose to 7.9 percent, the highest in 15 years. How is it that 655,000 plus job were lost in 2009 alone and still counting?  The government can barely help its own people to maintain an income, or homes, but our government can bailout banks twice, fight a war and police Iraq? How is this possible that we the people are struggling to survive in this country while other countries and institutions are getting help? Are we not that important to these big wigs in Washington? The indecent treatment of U.S. citizen isn’t the “American way.” Is this patriotic or is this irony in the flesh?

Whoever owns the media owns the minds of the people, the likes of Rupert Murdoch, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, etc. These are the men and corporation heads that leave millions of Americans in fear. Using war as propaganda, no different from Hitler and the Nazis, to keep people living in fear of a whole religion, Islam.  Muslims didn’t level the World Trade Center, an extremist group did. This fear of Muslims blinds people and leads them to believe that the U.S. needs to go to war with Islamic states, such as Iraq & Afghanistan. The media gives us the illusion that we are winning a war where more U.S. troops are being killed each day. The media causes U.S. citizens to fear and to conduct our daily lives in fear of being attacked. If our army can go to other counties and invade, do you really think they can’t protect their own country? Why do we need to live in fear if our army can protect us? No fooling us twice, food for thought. U.S. citizens living in fear of terrorist attacks, causes us to lose a bit of our freedom and privacy. The media blindfolds use with so much fear of terrorist attacks and the wars that we don’t see the declining of our economy. Now, people are losing jobs, the stock market is crashing, mortgage companies and banks need bailing out, and Social Security is almost gone. With the media reporting all this chaos, and millions of Americans worried about their own problems, here is my question: Where is The United States getting money from when we’ve been in a recession since 2007?  How are we still funding one war and able to police Iraq…Light bulb please, from us, U.S. citizens! That’s what I call “grand theft America.” Add on to the list of United States terrorist acts, grand theft; so we have kidnapping, slavery, genocide, invasion, and espionage. I wonder why other countries don’t like us.

America needs a major change, a movement. There is no more Black, White, Asian, Latin, and other; even cultures have been separated by class since the fall of this economy. No need to fight one another because we are all trying to survive. How long can we survive being 1 to 3 trillion dollars in debt? President Obama is trying his best; he’s just a man.  He can only do as much as Congress and the Senate allow.  What about us, you and I, the common man? We need to get up and take a stand. We’re tired of this horrible treatment when we are the government. Politicians write these absurd laws that in essence will only benefit them and the rich. They’re getting the most excellent healthcare, the big corporate lobbyist checks, and the most lavish lifestyles. While we, the people, are stuck scratching at each other to die, trying to reach the top. Enough! We need to stand up and take our country back, not with force or ignorance, with unity! Black, White, Asian, Latin, and other cultures are all of one class, united to overcome a decade of hardship, lies, terror, confusion, despair, and depression. We the people run this country, not the media, not corporations, not warmongers, not lobbyist, not Republicans, not Democrats, nor the President. We the people elect and raise high these people and corporation that are in power, sadly. Without us a man is just a man, not the president. President is just a title, a spokes person for us the people. We need to stop feeling down on ourselves, and stop trying to bring the next man down. This is what the government wants, for us to stay separated. Our voice may be able to be heard individually but as a unit we could be heard worldwide. Everything I’ve shared is the truth, no exaggeration. The knowledge and proof is out there waiting for YOU to see. We need to stand up together; this is not the end, this is only the beginning.
