‘How to Make It In America’ Renewed at HBO
HBO has picked up freshman comedy How to Make It In America for a second season. Created By Ian Edelman, How to Make It stars Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk and follows young hustlers in New York. Stephen Levinson, Rob Weiss, Edelman, Julian Farino, Jada Miranda and Mark Wahlberg are exec producing. The 8-episode second season of the show will launch in Summer 2011. The renewal comes on the heels of HBO’s early pickup of fellow freshman Treme. It continues the pay cable network’s streak of two years of new series developed internally that have gone at least to a second season. (2009’s The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, which wrapped after one season, started off as a movie/backdoor pilot independently produced by the Weinstein Co. and Mirage Prods.)
