#IAmNotADictionary Phrase Of The Day: 4/21 (National Surprise Drug Test Day)
4/21 (April 21st; also know as 4/twanzaa) – This “holiday” is relatively new & it occurs the day after 4/20. Since the inception of the “holiday” 4/20 (or Chronicah Solstice), employers (who most likely also smoke) noticed increasingly sluggish behavior & the lazy nature of employees (if not always) the day after 4/20.
Allied Barton, in 1994, was rumored to have been the first company to adopt this method of firing employees for “recreational activities” (read as: no reason). Allied Barton could not be reached for comment (read as: they hung up on me twice) There are many ways to work around this (which of course I cant name right here, but if you really wanna know, I’ll see you in the comments section) and avoid being terminated. Hopefully your place of employment doesn’t adopt such a discriminatory policy.
