Facebook Gets a Movie Deal
What would happen if someone created the E! True Hollywood Story Facebook?? Apparently we’ll see very soon. Uber talented Mr Kevin Spacey is the producer for the Facebook-based comedy drama entitled “The Social Network.” The movie, which is slated to hit theaters October 15 2010, was adapted from the book “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding Of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal” written by Ben Mezrich. The movie’s cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Rooney Mara, Armie Hammer (never heard of them), Brenda Song (Asian chic from Disney’s ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’), and Justin Timberake (yawwwwwwwwwn).
I can’t even hate on this. Its supposed to be funny and the the title of the book its been adapted from seems mildly entertaining. What I am dreading however is the anticipated domino effect it will have on the movie industry. If this does well then the entire fall season of 2010 will be teeming with “The Making of…” movies followed up by a Wayans’ Bros spoof. Goodnight! Since Justin Timberlake insists on advancing his film career (sigh) lets hope this performance is better than whatever Alpha Dog was supposed to be.
*walks out to go find a hustle…and a movie deal*
