The Iconic Nick Cave
Mr. Nick Cave continues to lead his contemporary conversation with his “sound suits” – performances that combine musical and textile dexterity with movement and choreography. Celebrated around the world, Mr. Cave has been Artist-in-Residence at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia. The opening performance featured Brothers’ Network member Jumatatu Poe, MFA, founder and director of idiosynCrazy Productions.
Mr. Cave is a fashion designer, visual artist, public performance master and all around savant. The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts celebrates his influence as a trailblazing contemporary artist with works by Mr. Cave in its permanent collection. Brothers’ Network members toured his work along with works by Romare Bearden, Glenn Ligon, Quentin Morris and Kehinde Wiley in the exhibit “After Tanner: African-American Artists Since 1940.”
