With enough credits to graduate, Jeff contemplates his future; the study group once again is faced with the darkest timeline.
Delta Cubes will never die! Or whatever. I can’t explain it either, but despite dismal ratings and lots of backlash, NBC has gone and done the unexpected and renewed cult fave Community for a fifth season. The beloved comedy was barely hanging onto the bubble as the Upfronts approached, but its chances continued to improve throughout this week as NBC slowly axed nearly all of its other comedies.
The decision comes the day after Community‘s Season 4 finale jumped up in ratings, all the way to a 1.3 rating. Yeah, that’s not good by any means, but it’s a positive sign that NBC was hoping for from one of its veteran comedies. Community joins Parks and Recreation on NBC’s extremely short list of returning comedies.
Look, I know a lot of you are going to be super excited about this renewal, and I’m happy for you. But I’m having trouble with this, given how I’ve felt about the lackluster Season 4. Do I like it more than Guys With Kids? Hell yeah. But which show are we going to get in Season 5? Community Seasons 1-3 or Community Season 4? I’m so confused I’m going to jump into a hole and stay there for five years.
