From Lv: “To me, “Hey Girl” is about longing to be in a better place with someone who was once special to you. Not so much wanting to still be with them, but remaining hopeful that when you meet again things will be different and you will both be in a different place. “Hey Girl” is basically saying ‘I’m sorry this didn’t work, I wish you the best and I hope to see you again down the road.” … whatever that means.
PropaneLv’s cover series takes a slight rewind as he connects with acclaimed remix producer and good friend Chi Duly to recreate the classic “Heard It Through The Grapevine”. Chi Duly chops and arranges samples from both Marvin Gaye and CCR as Lv belts the classic hook and adds some bars with a more modern take on the track.
Lv’s words: “Had to do this. It brings back memories of my dad banging on things in the garage, smelling like grease, and grabbing beers from the kitchen. It’s a big hairy american classic and I absolutely love it. Chi Duly did his thing on the production, as usual.”
