#TopFlightSecurity: @SEPTA Police Go On Strike Effective Immediately
Officers with SEPTA’s transit police have gone on strike following a stalemate in negotiations regarding a new contract.
The officers officially went on strike at 2 p.m.
SEPTA and the union for the transit have not been able to a settlement regarding a contract.
SEPTA officials said contingency plans are in place to provide security for its riders. Philadelphia police officers are expected to patrol the Broad Street and Market-Frankford Line.
