This day in age it seems like everyone and everybody is attending college but, most don’t know where the funds will come from and/or who will be providing them. PhillyGoes2College is a center within Mayor Nutter’s office that is there to help students, parents/mentors, and returning students be successful in their scholastics. This morning Mayor Nutter had a team of financial aid counselors and representatives from local colleges answering calls from parents and students who had questions on filling out the dreaded FASFA form and they also helped by referring them to other programs that would provide the funds for education. There is an actual site www.phillygoes2college.com that is there to further assist you. The site is very easy to navigate and the site also helps you devise a plan for applying for schools and finding schools that are appropriate for you. After you are in school they also help you develop ways to keep track of your academic process/achievements and refer you to different academic programs (i.e. student success) that will help you reach that point of graduating. For parents the site helps you plan a budget and provides you with ways to keep your child motivated. The site also has a detailed list of upcoming events that are free or have minimal cost that will help you with your educational planning. All the help you will need is there, good luck!
