Copyright Criminals examines the history and influence of musical sampling, provoking debates about copyright, compensation, and creativity in the age of intellectual property.
Featuring remarks from hip-hop and electronica artists as well as George Clinton and ex-James Brown drummer Clyde Stubblefield, whose works have been heavily sampled.
I saw a trailer for this documentary a few months ago, I’m glad PBS picked it up. Props to YN for the rip.
