Controversial rapper Dr. Dre is being sued by Paramount Recording Studios for $1,220, 500 for breach of contract, RadarOnline.com learned on Friday.
COURT DOCUMENTS: Read The Lawsuit
The lawsuit claims that the musician, also known as Andre Young, and his record label Aftermath Entertainment rented “recording studios and services” but failed to pay the agreed amount despite multiple invoices.
According to court documents, Dr. Dre promised to pay the money owed by July 13. When the date passed, music powerhouse Paramount Recording Studios took legal action in an attempt to get their huge bill paid.

Britain’s tabloid press has gone gaga over a baby girl with white skin, blue eyes and a mop of blond curls who was born to black parents.
The best-selling Daily Mail and The Sun newspapers have labeled the child’s Caucasian complexion a mystery, saying genetics experts are “flummoxed” by the case. But is the birth of a white baby to a dark-skinned couple really as baffling as the papers claim?
Ben and Angela Ihegboro were certainly confused when nurses at Queen Mary Hospital in Sidcup, 10 miles southeast of London, last week presented them with their daughter Nmachi — whose name means “beauty of God” in the Nigerian couple’s homeland.
Father Ben told The Sun that when he first saw the porcelain-skinned infant he jokingly cried out, “What the flip? Is she mine?” But he never doubted whether he was Nmachi’s real dad. “Of course she is mine. My wife is true to me,” he said. “Even if she hadn’t been, the baby wouldn’t have looked like that!”

The rapidly aging population of the United States as the Baby Boomers reach their golden years doesn’t bode well for our collective vision: 30 percent of Americans over age 75 suffer from age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a common condition that causes the retina to degrade and decay, resulting in partial blindness. But after five years of deliberation, the FDA has approved the first implantable miniature telescope (IMT) that fits directly into the eye to correct the effects of AMD.
Those effects are pretty serious; as the retina degenerates, the center part of a person’s vision grows blurry or completely dark. The IMT corrects this by expanding an incoming image onto the peripheral parts of the retina that are still in good health. Once implanted directly into the cornea, the device makes use of the remaining working retina cells to produce a donut-like image that users can see.

China’s largest reported oil spill emptied beaches along the Yellow Sea as its size doubled Wednesday, while cleanup efforts included straw mats and frazzled workers with little more than rubber gloves.
An official warned the spill posed a “severe threat” to sea life and water quality as China’s latest environmental crisis spread off the shores of Dalian, once named China’s most livable city.
One cleanup worker has drowned, his body coated in crude.
“I’ve been to a few bays today and discovered they were almost entirely covered with dark oil,” said Zhong Yu with environmental group Greenpeace China, who spent the day on a boat inspecting the spill.
“The oil is half-solid and half liquid and is as sticky as asphalt,” she told The Associated Press by telephone.

It has emerged that the New York National Guard is assisting in the arrests of thousands of American citizens as part of the “drug war,” while at the same time the U.S. government itself orders troops in Afghanistan to guard the poppy fields as heroin floods American streets, in yet another shining example of how the United States is under a state of de facto martial law.
Yesterday we reported on how the New York National Guard is working with local law enforcement authorities to perform sophisticated scans of vehicles entering the New York area looking for guns and drugs, a program celebrated by local new station Fox 23, who today ran a part two on the Guard’s activities in the region.
The news clip lauds the fact that the National Guard are conducting surveillance flights over the area “looking for marijuana” using infrared cameras.

In Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter’s
2008 inaugural address, he announced his goal to make the city the “greenest” in the country by 2015. Nutter quickly created an Office of Sustainability and later instituted Katherine Gajewski as director.
I spoke with Gajewski recently about how far the plan has come — and what more needs to be done in order for Philadelphia to reach its ambitious goal.
Why is the “greenest city in the country” goal so important to Philadelphia?
We looked at what the benefits would be of a really aggressive sustainability plan. It was going to help position Philadelphia for what we think is an impending clean energy economy in the United States. It was going to help prepare our workforce, our economy, our jobs base. It was going to look at neighborhood greening in a way we thought had multiple positive impacts. At this time of budget constraints and concessions, we were finding a lot of value added and savings to be found in looking at resource conservation. It made a lot of sense.
On top of that, we put out this goal of being the greenest city. It was really inspiring to Philadelphians that we could think big and deliver. Cities like Philadelphia are uniquely and inherently sustainable. We have dense, walkable neighborhoods. We have transit. We have a 9,200-acre park system. These are the things you can’t build for anymore. The bones of Philadelphia are inherently green, so how do we take that and modernize it?
