Who Want To Rule The World With Me By: Eric Blair

Who want to rule the world with me?

I ask this question because there hasn’t been a powerful African-American leader that captivates audiences since Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm-X, Huey Newton and the list goes on. I know there are people out there thinking, “What about Barack Obama or Oprah?” They’re great leaders but they’re leaders for the “everyman.” I am talking about leaders that united African-Americans as one fist; no matter what their beliefs were or however they went about conveying their message. I am talking about Black Excellence as people; Kings and Queen we are. If you follow my writing you’re familiar with my love for my culture as an African-American male. Only one man can poke for some attention but what I am thinking about is ten plus like minded young men and women who want to achieve Black Excellence to form a powerful fist to eradicate any racial, class, or sex barriers. Let’s sprinkle the seeds of sublime on our Africa-American youth so these princes and princesses can grown to be the kings and queens they’re destining to be; teach forward for an endless cycle of knowledge. It hurts to know their role models are rappers, singers, and athletes. Honestly, growing up negative role models in the media was the thing to be. Evening 2Pac is glorified as a martyr; in actuality 2Pac wasn’t the 2Pac the media depicted. He was a brilliant man, not a thug; he understood Black excellence but let the media and people around him send him in a downward spiral. 2Pac was a great artist but honestly, I do not want to look up to a role model who screams “thug life” or calling women “bitches” and “hoes.” That’s not Black excellence but performers are here to perform, not to lead people as leaders; that’s not their responsibility. I do not want my culture to be depicted as a culture full of men disrespecting their women and selling crack to their people and women never knowing their worth only to become a Madea. Men and women like Martin, Malcolm, Maya, Nikki, Rosa, Huey, James, Bobby, and W.E.B. are the people whom helped to lead African-Americans until their death’s or until the crack epidemic come along. Those are the people we should follow and achieve to be beautiful as. A Black man isn’t dangerous with a nine millimeter; he’s just another prison statistic.  A Black man or women who reads an book each day whom is well educated, not just from an institution but hungers for knowledge are dangerous. Now that’s more dangerous than twenty Bumpy Johnson’s with machine guns. The future is within knowledge, not in the stars. If you’re reading this and you’re one of these like minded young men or women who want Black excellence then contact me. Let’s discuss how can we bridge the gap within our culture and community; let’s do something great to captivate minds and the youth, and let’s all unite to become one powerful blow. United we stand but divided we will fall.

A nation or people or society is only as strong as its individuals are empowered to rise to the level of their individual genius. When leaders encourage us to follow them, they are asking us to hear their message and empower our lives. –Anonymous
