When you buy an advertisement, there are some things you can’t control. You can purchase certain billboards or sections of magazines, but you can’t always be sure what content your ad will run alongside.
Online content is a little easier to control, but sometimes keyword targeting backfires.
Some advertisers have gotten smart about this. For example, when news breaks about an airplane going down, many airline advertisers temporarily yank ads from publications. They don’t want to run next to the negative, industry-relevant news.
We found 12 hilarious, unfortunately placed ads that probably gave advertisers minor heart attacks.

Social media marketers often complain that their efforts aren’t measurable.
Hitwise used internal data to determine the ROI of Facebook advertising. It found that each Facebook fan generates about 20 visits per year to a retailer’s site.
“The figure of 1 fan = 20 extra visits to a website uses a unique methodology that combines Hitwise data with data from social media experts Techlightenment,” it writes.
“We took the top 100 retailers ranked in the Hitwise Shopping and Classifieds category and benchmarked visits to those websites against the number of fans those brands had on their Facebook page. We then also looked at the propensity for people to search for those retail brands after a visit to Facebook using our Search Sequence tool.”
From that stat alone, fans are clearly worth the social media effort.

He came to me on crutches that crushed my foot when I walked by
I couldn’t help but notice him after that, because he persisted it was my fault
Our fault, our kind, and his addiction to the allure that kept him blind
Keeps him blind, although I assure him taking off those glasses won’t be as dangerous as he perceives it to be, he believes he needs them, and I say maybe he needs me
Needs us, to mother him, doctor him up and send him back out there with those same crutches minus the glasses this time. He really is gorgeous if you get the chance to see his eyes.
But I mean gorgeous in a dirty snow type of way. You can tell at one time he was bright, but his darkness shows everyone who’s trudged on him, making their way towards doors they had to step on him to get through. Only to be melted away or scooped up by some trash, with some trash, put with trash, and deemed as trash.
If only he were a bit colder, ice, a bit older, a bit harder on the surface
People would hydroplane out of his life, and crash into each other
And he would laugh, and the laughter would quickly fade as the emotion remains an echo, a reminder, another (more…)

Ok… ok…ok I get it. I understand that Gucci Mane is writing for her.
I understand that her gimic is the fact that she can say n*gga (or Not?) because “people call her sister that”… Whether her or Garth Algar from Wayne’s World uses it, its still not cool.
Shes young and she is a blend of black and white culture and she sniffs coke & her friends go to jail and she is inspired by Soulja Boy (which says enough in itself) and she raps and shes white and people who “matter” have cosigned her foolishness
I get it Andy Milonakis…
I get it Gawker…
I get it YouTubeNation…
I f*ckin get it…
But will somebody PLEASE get this confused little white girl the ENTIRE… f*ck… outta… here!
With that said…

As part of a look at the impact of identity theft and the Internal Revenue Service, watchdogs at the Government Accountability Office issued the IRS’ top 10 list of identity theft information everyone should be aware of. Some of the information is obvious, perhaps, but overall even the basics of security were followed in many cases the impact of identity theft could be reduced.
From the GAO: In 2010 alone, IRS identified more than 245,000 identity theft incidents that affected the tax system. The hundreds of thousands of taxpayers with tax problems caused by identity theft represent a small percentage of the expected 140 million individual returns filed, but for those affected, the problems can be quite serious.
“The IRS provides taxpayers with targeted information to increase their awareness of identity theft, tips and suggestions for safeguarding taxpayers’ personal information, and information to help them better understand tax administration issues related to identity theft,” the GAO states.
The list:
1. The IRS does not initiate contact with a taxpayer by email.
2. If you receive a scam email claiming to be from the IRS, forward it to the IRS at phishing@irs.gov.
3. Identity thieves get your personal information by many different means, including: (more…)
