Mother’s day was yesterday; well, I have a friend, more like a sister that is going through grief. Her mother just passed away a few days before Mother’s Day. A few words about her mother; Ms. ________ was a wonderful lady. No matter how she felt or the problems she was having she always maintained smile on her face. She always welcomed me and others with warmth and loving vibes. She was a beautiful human being. People like her aspires me to become better. They teach me to understand that life is always brighter than a bad day. On her worst days she was happier than most people without problems. People like her helped me to never dwell on any pettiness in my life. Some days she was in pain but she was always optimistic. As I write this I am holding back tears because I remember the times I hung out with my friend and her mother just was so fun and funny. The parties we had at Ms. ______’s home, the cookout she attended with a beautiful smile and wise of wisdom. In her time of need my friend was always there for her, helping her mother, loving her mother as a child should. Ms. ________ was a beautiful human being that also birth one of the greatest woman in my life; if she didn’t give birth to my friend, I don’t know where my life would be. It hurts me to know she’s not on Earth with us anymore but I know Ms. _________ wouldn’t want me to be upset. Instead, she would want us to remember her for the good times, the impact she made, and her legacy as a mother and grandmother. The reason I am writing this is because Mother’s Day shouldn’t just be May 8th, it should be everyday! Appreciate our mothers…Wait, scratch that… Appreciate our mothers. We should appreciate each other as human being each and every day. The present is a gift, one day you’re here next day you’re in the morgue. Never let a day go by without telling your loved ones three little words; “I love you.” These word has a such huge effect on another‘s life. Love is beautiful, love is sublime, and we all should love each other. I love life, I love the fact I can close my eyes at night and hear an owl in the tree and open my eyes the next morning and hear birds and Erin calling my name. Love is eternal, a forever cycle; a little love can light up a whole room of sadness. Death isn’t a fun subject but the love you have for your love one will never die. People may die but love will always live. That might sound corny but I refuse to hate another human being even, George W. Bush. Life is too short to hate but too long to go loveless. Mother’s, Father’s, Son’s, Daughter’s, Friend’s and Grand Parent’s Day needs to be every day. This world isn’t big enough for war for another ten years; today, tomorrow, or next week the love movement needs to start. Tell your loved ones these three little words, “I love you.” I might sound like an idealist or a dreamer but I rather die with love in my heart than hate on my brain. Let’s keep the love moving, people…
