IAmNotADictionary Word Of The Day: Black-ronym
IAmNotADictionary Word Of The Day: Black-ronym – An acronym is a word formed from the initial letters or groups of letters of words in a set phrase or series of words.
i.e. Wac from Women’s army Corps, OPEC from Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or loran from long-range navigation
A black-ronym is nothing like that…
Black-ronyms (usually created by “n*ggas”) either make no logical sense or are EXTREMELY unnecessary. They usually dont follow the format or purpose which is & to shorten an important phrase
i.e. GNR = Gotta N*gga Rollin; ILY = I Love You; TCAP = To Catch A Predator; CTFU = Crack The F*ck Up (and Im sure you can fill in more from your daily vocabulary)
Twitter has made this problem 100 times worse than it already was because now people make up all types of Black-ronyms and throw a ” # ” sign in front of it which makes it a trending topic (When you share this post with your friends, put ” #Blackroynms ” in front of it and watch…). To the people that feel that is important, it makes them feel important, and the cycle continues.
