Sisters: by Eric Blair

Sisters: by Eric Blair

I have a sister named Erica C. Blair. Erica is one of my earliest childhood memories. We’ve had very complexed adventures as siblings. I didn’t like her when she first was born, but she loved her big brother. She didn’t like me throughout our juvenile years; well, I didn’t care for her either. One day, we grew up! One day we start engaging in respectful conversation. One day we started listening to each other as adults and loving each other as family should. My sister, Erica, isn’t a compassionate woman one bit but she has shown me her loving side in strange ways. I love my sister, in my eyes and mind she’s the greatest sister alive. Honestly, this woman helped me to be a better father. She has helped me out with so many things that I was unsure or confused about during fatherhood. She has helped me to keep my lights on in my home the times I didn’t have a lot of money. She has given me food when I didn’t have money to get groceries. She has watched my daughter Erin during times I’ve handled business for my career. She has given me money to travel back and forth to work. She has given me great advice as an adult, parent, and sibling. She took care of my grandmother when she was sick with Cancer. While I was living my life, she stopped her life to take care of our grandmother. After my grandmother’s death, she was the rock that held the family down. She took her death the hardest but she was still strong enough to be there for the rest of us. If you ever meet my sister you’d know she’s a woman of minimum words and attitude like a raging bull; but she is one of the most loving persons that I have ever met. Her hard exterior covers up her big heart. I wish I can give my sister the world and Mars.  Since I can’t, I will continue to always be there for her finically and emotionally. When that sublime day comes when all my hard work has paid off; Erica and Keleb (My nephew) will receive the world and Mars and whatever else they may desire; mark my words.

I have other sisters that are not blood related but are family to me; they are Jennefer Ray, Keri, Shontee, and Staci. These women and myself have had loving, sometimes rocky, fun, great times together in my life so far. Jen and I have known each other since 8th grade.  I used to hate her because she use to beat me up with her long, freakish legs. As time passed our relationship grew closer, yet laced with a bit of smitten feelings. During her time of need I was there for her as a shoulder, ear, voice, or just for a few laughs. Of course we had a falling out (I wouldn’t be Eric Blair if we didn’t.) but we regained our bond. This woman always has my best interest at heard when it comes to women, career, life choices, fatherhood, etc. She’s a true sister in my life; the day she become my sister is the day she had a party to cheer me up from my grandmother’s passing. I’ll never forget that night; I believe after I got home from that party I cried with tears of joy because I wasn’t alone in this world after all. Thank you Jennaffer Ray! Moving on to Keri.  Keri and I once had a “sexship” in our early twenties before Erin. We grew apart because of…Well, I had Erin with Sandra (Oops, sorry Keri). As time passed, we also regained our bond once we spoke of the faults of our previous relationship. (Mainly my fault.  Sorry again, Keri).  I had a new found respect for her. I love her, not as a girlfriend but as a great friend. She has been there for me when I needed an ear during the “Ms. Lewis Era” aka “The breakup.” She really helped me through those hard lonely times. She really made me feel better as a man; she helped me to realize what I have to offer as a lover and friend. Thanks Keri! Shontee! Well, Shontee has been one of the key women that has been there for me during my times of dating. She has helped me out with over analyzing everything in a woman I am seeing. She has been my ear and good advice giver. She cheers me up on days I might be pissed or upset. She is a ray of sunshine in my life. She shows me that even in tough times there are always moments to smile. A smile costs nothing, it’s free. She has made me smile, chuckle, bust a gut, and cry with her silly, sometimes crude sense of humor. Honestly, without her I would have been a marvelous cunt, douche bag. I just want Shontee to know I appreciate her as a friend, sister, and loved one. She’s a great person in my life, she’s amazing, and honest; any man that marries her will be lucky to have her and also would need to be rich. Thanks Shontee! Last but not forgotten, Staci, she is an amazing woman; we may bump heads sometimes but I need that type of tough, bullshit free love. She has been a great friend and big sister figure. She is one of the many people that supports my career and has no problem giving it to me straight, never sugar coded. I love you, Staci for all these reasons and more! I love the fact that she’s not afraid to speak her mind or let her voice be heard. That has inspired me lately. Honestly, she’s the reason I write this blog weekly because I want my voice to be heard. Why complain all the time and never speak up when it’s needed. She has given me that courage to speak up and rise against anything or anyone that wants to suppress people to a voice. She’s a great friend; I wish I can repay her for the little contribution she has added to my life. Thank you Staci!

Finally, I made it to the end; I just want to thank these key women in my life; Erica, Jen, Keri, Shontee, and Staci. Without you guys I wouldn’t be the man I am today. I would have lost my way from the hard times in life. You five women have held me down through out my life and have helped me see the brighter day. I am very thankful to have you guys in my life supporting me. I love you all and the day my goal is achieved, best believe I will repay you guys for putting up with me. Right now, I can’t really give you guys much more than my time, help in anyway needed, and my love. So, I love all my sisters; I love you Erica, I love you Jen, I love you Keri, I love you Shontee, I love you Staci.

Thank you for reading.

Peace!
