Hey! I am back to Mondays! Hoo-ray!

This week’s topic is about brothers; I just want to talk about the sacred bond between family and friends of mines. I am thankful to have a few positive friends to call my brothers; also I am thankful to be able to be there for my youngest brother. Trouble from the past still bothers me for not being there for one out of my two brothers but I will address that in a few.

Today, so many men are cut throats over females, money, or just respect. When did we men forget about the strong bond of camaraderie? Why do we want to hurt each other over things that are so silly and ignorant? Life is way too short to fight our fellow man, therefore I thank my beautiful mother for birthing my two brothers; Ricky and Dameon. Honestly, I wish I was more of a brother to Ricky.  As a child, I was so consumed with hanging with my friends that I forgot to be Ricky’s older brother. I pushed him to the back burner numerous times not realizing the effects that my actions would have on him. Now, we walk on two different paths.  I do not judge his actions or life choices. I love him regardless; he will always be my brother.

I will always be there for him when he needs me.  If any man or woman dares to harm him they will feel my wrath.  The faults of the past only made me wiser; so between working a nine to five job, raising Erin, writing scripts, and working on my blog, I like to hang with Dameon every now and again. I try to do all I can to help my mother with raising Dameon because I know how it feels not to have a full-time male figure in your life. Dameon is a great kid and a great brother; it makes me happy to be there for him or see him grow into a young man. I will always be his big brother.  Even when he’s in college living his life. That would be the day I am truly proud to see him grow into a man. Moving onto my great friends; Shel, Brand, Rich, Chris, Mel, J.D., Kevin, and Shaad; these men I love and not afraid to say it to them. Each one of those men helped me to grow and learn as a man and a human. They may not know it but each one of these guys taught me something that helped make who I am today. I just don’t freely call anyone a “friend.” So, to call these men my “brothers” they must mean something to me. Each one were there for me in my times of tribulation during problems with family, father issues, crazy women, problems with Erin’s mother, death of my grand mother, the breakup with Ms. Lewis, doubts about fatherhood, and  my career. Each one of these men was there for me to give me a laugh, advice, helping hand, and always kept it honest with me. Never sugar coated anything to spare my feelings. I honestly become a man through these men because in each one of these men there is something I honor, respect, and admire. I don’t look up to celebrities; I look up to great idealist and my brothers. Hopefully before my life is over I will be as great as my icons.

In conclusion, I really don’t have much to say; I’ve said all that has been on my mind. I feel that no man is built to be the man he is now. Men help men to be men and I am thankful to have the bond with the young man and men in my life. I am not afraid to say it: “I love you, Ricky. I love you, Dameon. I love you, Shel. I love you, Brand. I love you, Rich. I love you, Chris. I love you, Mel. I love you, J.D. I love you, Kevin. I love you, Shaad. I love all my brothers.”

Thank you for reading my thoughts once again…

Peace!
