Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook Page Hacked

Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook Page Hacked

It happened to Julian Assange when someone got into his personal dating records in December. So why should it be so strange that someone hacked into Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook account?
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Zuckerberg is so busy telling the rest of us how safe and secure our private information is in Facebook. Just a little ironic.

At some point Tuesday, someone hacked onto Zuckerberg’s fan page on Facebook and left this message:

“Let the hacking begin. If facebook (sic) needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a ‘social business’ the way Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus described it? [Link] What do you think? #hackercup2011″

Before the hacked prose was taken down, more than 1,800 people “liked” it. Facebook has made no public statement about the episode, probably to save Zuckerberg from embarrassment. The hacked statement most likely referred to the fact that Goldman Sachs was slated to buy shares of Facebook stock for its best customers. The program hit a snag recently and it’s unclear whether the investment firm will go ahead as planned with the Facebook buy-ins.

Besides Zuckerberg and Assange being hacked, French president Nicolas Sarkozy’s Facebook page was also hacked early this week. It said on his wall that he would not run for re-election. Sarkozy denied the fact and said “no system is infallible.”

Facebook is trying to step up security and posted a blog called “A Continued Commitment to Security.” It draws attention to Data Privacy Day, which is this Friday.

Does Julian Assange of Wikileaks have a better case for Time’s Person Of The Year over Mark Zuckerberg? http://t.co/keL1ZsL
