IAmNotADictionary Word Of The Day: Ankh

by iSpit

ankhmouth IAmNotADictionary Word Of The Day: Ankhankh3 IAmNotADictionary Word Of The Day: Ankh

AnkhThe Ankh, also known as key of life, the key of the Nile or crux ansata, was the ancient Egiptian hieroglyphic character that read “eternal life”, a triliteral sign for the consonants ʻ-n-ḫ. Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest.

Symbolists see in the Ankh the outline of a crucified man: the circle represents his head, the horizontal line his two arms, and the vertical line his legs nailed to the cross as one. Now  overstanding that this Ankh, the Egiptian Symbol for the “crucifixion” of “Cosmic Fire/God” as it breaks the plane dividing “Solar Energy” from “Energy latent in matter” (Mary, Womb of the Cosmos), then we see that it depicts the “fall of God/Christ/Soul” into “matter”. We read this our whole lives in the book of Philippians but never catch the true metaphysical truths behind it due to being conditioned to approach everything we read in our Bibles “literally” instead of “symbolically” and “allegorically”.

U.S. Slips To Historic Low In Global Corruption Index

by iSpit

usworlddominationtourpc9 U.S. Slips To Historic Low In Global Corruption Index

The United States has dropped out of the “top 20″ in a global league table of least corrupt nations, tarnished by financial scandals and the influence of money in politics, Transparency International said on Tuesday.

Somalia was judged the most corrupt country, followed by Myanmar and Afghanistan at joint second-worst and then by Iraq, in the Berlin-based watchdog TI’s annual corruption perceptions index (CPI).

The United States fell to 22nd from 19th last year, with its CPI score dropping to 7.1 from 7.5 in the 178-nation index, which is based on independent surveys on corruption.

This was the lowest score awarded to the United States in the index’s 15-year history and also the first time it had fallen out of the top 20.

In the Americas, this put the United States behind Canada in sixth place, Barbados at 17th and Chile in 21st place.

Jointly heading the index — in which a score of 10 indicates a country with the highest standards, and 0 as highly corrupt — were Denmark, New Zealand and Singapore with 9.3. They were also at the top of the table last year.

Somalia scored 1.1. The watchdog group said its table was based on “different assessments and business opinion surveys carried out by independent and reputable institutions.”

Reggae Legend Gregory Isaacs Dead at 59

by iSpit

225341 isaacs Reggae Legend Gregory Isaacs Dead at 59

Gregory Isaacs — one of the most popular and versatile reggae singers of the late-1970s, and the smooth-voiced dancehall crooner behind the genre’s landmark 1982 LP Night Nurse — passed away this morning at his London home following a year-long battle with lung cancer, the BBC reports. Isaacs was 59. “Gregory was well loved by everyone, his fans and his family, and he worked really hard to make sure he delivered the music they loved and enjoyed,” Isaacs’ wife Linda said. “He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.”

Over the course of his prolific career — in which he released an estimated 500 albums within Jamaica, the UK and the U.S. — Isaacs collaborated with reggae, dub and dancehall icons like Lee “Scratch” Perry, King Tubby, Sugar Minott, Freddie McGregor, Dennis Brown and Errol Holt. After spending the 1970s building a reputation as both a top-notch roots reggae singer and a soulful “lovers rock”-style crooner, Isaacs recorded his masterpiece Night Nurse at Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Studios in 1982, the year after Marley’s death.

Court Forces LimeWire Shut Down Of P2P Operations

by iSpit

funny graphs download limewire Court Forces LimeWire Shut Down Of P2P Operations

In a big win for record labels, a judge on Tuesday issued an injunction that will force LimeWire to cease its P2P operation. After today, according to information shared by LimeWire, the company will no longer support or distribute its P2P file-sharing software as the court directed it to disable “the searching, downloading, uploading, file trading and/or file distribution functionality, and/or all functionality.” The injunction was issued by the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.

The company noted that it is “compelled to use our best efforts cease support and distribution of the file-sharing software, along with increased filtering.”

The judge’s decision means LimeWire will not be able to fully leverage its current user base in the launch of the subscription service it is currently working on. “We look forward to embracing necessary changes and collaborating with the entire music industry in the future,” said a company spokesperson.

Today’s ruling continues record labels’ four-year legal battle against LimeWire. In a May summary judgment, U.S. District Court judge Kimba Wood ruled that LimeWire’s owner, Mark Gorton, and its parent company, Lime Group, were guilty of copyright infringement, engaged in unfair competition and induced copyright infringement.

I Quit…:President Obama Taps Jay-Z For Cabinet Position in 2012 (Obama/Carter 2012? Obama/Hov 2012? Obama/Iceberg 2012?)

Beyonce Jay Z Tina Knowles Attend The White House Photos 011 I Quit...:President Obama Taps Jay Z For Cabinet Position in 2012 (Obama/Carter 2012? Obama/Hov 2012? Obama/Iceberg 2012?)

This has got to be a f*cking joke…Is this the end of the world that the mayans were talking about?

And they wonder why the people start talking that illuminati sh*t… Wait…nevermind

Dear Young Democratic Voters: Please ignore the coming electoral meltdown where your party loses control of at least one half-branch of the entire federal government. In 2012, Jay-Z will be campaigning for your vote! (He didn’t do it this year because he didn’t want to ruin Kanye’s moment.)

White House Press Secretary William  Burton tells  the New York Post about Jay-Z replacing Larry Summers, but, seriously, he would be a great fit for a job if the Republicans win Congress. Issuing a subpoena for his notes would be literally impossible, because he doesn’t write anything down. It’s all in his head.

The brains behind President Obama’s 2008 election campaign are already strategizing how to re-energize the youth and minority vote for 2012. Their answer: partner with Jay-Z. “I can’t believe you’ve finally heard the chatter about him replacing Larry Summers,” Deputy White House Press Secretary William Burton told us. “In all seriousness, keep in mind he was pretty active during the 2008 election, so I don’t think it’d surprise anyone that he would be involved again. But it’s a little premature.” An insider says strategists feel comfortable with Jay-Z because he’s a respectable celebrity who can reignite their message of hope. Jay-Z also seems to sing the same tune as Obama. Asked by Forbes what words will come to mind 50 years from now when people say Jay-Z, he rambled: “I hope to inspire . . . I guess Obama took this thing already, but just the hope of how far we can make it and the hope in knowing how far you can go from where you started if you really apply yourself and stay true to who you are.”

Guest Blog: Once In A Lifetime Feeling, Part One…For Erin By: Eric Blair

9495 Guest Blog: Once In A Lifetime Feeling, Part One...For Erin By: Eric Blair

Hi. *Insert a happy wave of the hand here.* This week has been a hectic week for me, mentally.  Not in a stressful way, more like deep thoughts about topics for this article. My initial idea was to write about the false life people present on Facebook. Nah, I’ll bring that to you all in few weeks. Then I thought, maybe I should write about how we the people are the government, not puppets for the government. I figured I’ll come back to that topic as well; I need to get that topic into the air and minds. So, I decided to write about something personal, once again. More like a time capsule for her to see at any time. Nothing fancy just my feelings from my heart & soul to this blank page.
