Guest Blog: A Building Block For Children By Eric Blair

Guest Blog: A Building Block For Children By Eric Blair

I’m not going to start this train of thought with a quote; I just have one question: What is the value of our children’s future? I ponder about this everyday in society and the treatment of children; then the question comes about, do parents know our future’s worth? The way parents treat their own flesh and blood over the pettiest things. Few days ago, I seen a mother carrying six bags from a clothing store; three in each hand but she was screaming at her two small children because they were walking too slow. Really? The value of clothing, jewelry, cars, sex, or money is worth more than our children’s happiness. I am not a doctor nor I don’t have a degree in any child education/psychology but I am a father and human first. A child’s mortals are built at home with their parents. Some young parents are so concern with the most absurd antics in everyday living; forgetting that their own child needs just as much attention if not more. Let’s pause this for a second… I’m not pointing my fingers at anyone or degrading a person’s parenting skills; I just need to understand what the problem is. Why do some children know all the new dances to new Lil’ Wayne songs but don’t know their alphabets. Seeing a child with Polo shirts, jeans, skirts, and boots but barely knows how to speak or enunciate words like “cat.” To their parents that don’t matter, “My child is fresh” as the parent would say. I do not blame the children because they’re learning everyday. They only can learn what’s in their surrounding and upbringing. I blame their parents, why would you want your child to experience the imperfect plight you might had experience as a child? There are so many beautiful things in life to see and learn; why raise children in ignorance?

I am done asking questions I am not going to get an answer to. Here are my views on the future of our children. First, hearing a child’s laughter, knowing they’re happy without a care in the world is sublime. To see a human being be born then come to this world knowing nothing but their mother and father; watching their growth is worth the hard work. I look at children as small humans *Insert my chuckle here* with big brains with the eagerness to learn. If the enthusiasm is there just waiting to be taught then I will teach. Life is just about lessons, experiences, meaning, etc. Life is beautiful to live, why not help our children to understand how remarkable a spring day in the park with butterflies could be. I love to ask anyone how their day is going but to ask a child and the answer you will get is so joyful. Again, I am not perfect, I am not degrading anybody; all I am doing is speaking about what I see in everyday society. I’d never realized the significant of a child’s upbringing until I was an adult. I know this world isn’t always the happiest place but hearing a child’s laughter can make you forget about troubles of the world for a moment. So, I ask myself, what’s my child’s worth? There is no worth, the moment she was birth she was already greater than me. I want my child to be the greatest at just living her life. The only way that will happen is for me to continue to do my job as a parent and responsible adult and guide her in the right direction.

My final thoughts: A child isn’t born bad, stupid, or ignorant. Their upbringing produces this mental pattern of destruction, anger, & lack of learning. As parents, we wonder why would our children rob or rape someone. Why is my child in prison, on the corner, on drugs, shooting people, or in a casket? All these “whys” could have been diverted with a little attention from the parents. If we as in parents and adults want a majestic future then we need invest into our children. The key to that investment costs nothing more then love and affection. The present is a gift, tomorrow is never guaranteed; so shower your children with attention and love. What you’ll get in return will be worth more than any millions, clothing, jewelry, cars, or sex. These little humans are our futures therefore treat the future with some unconditional love. I’m Eric Blair, thank you for showing interest in my thoughts and views. – Peace.
