The Irish government will inject another 8.3bn euros (£7.4bn, $9.9bn) into the nationalised Anglo Irish Bank, it has been announced.
No new government money is likely to be invested in Bank of Ireland, Finance Minister Brian Lenihan said.
This bank will instead try to raise the money it needs from private investors.
Allied Irish Banks will also try to raise money privately, but will probably require taxpayer support, he added.
The second bailout follows the nationalisation of Anglo Irish Bank last year.
The Irish government also owns 25% and 16% stakes in Allied Irish Banks and Bank of Ireland respectively.
“Finding a long-term solution for Anglo Irish Bank is by far the biggest challenge in resolving the banking crisis,” said Mr Lenihan, defending the fresh injection of equity into the lender.

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — Bizarro, Millennium Force, Nitro and other attention-grabbing roller coasters need to watch their backs. Ferrari has previewed its Ferrari World Abu Dhabi GT roller coaster, and it promises to be one of the most memorable amusement park rides on the planet.
“The GT roller coaster is a racing coaster, which will send two competing roller coaster carriages sprinting along twisting parallel tracks on a race to the finish line,” said Ferrari in a statement. “Each coaster car is a replica of a Ferrari F430 Spider.”
It is the second of two roller coasters that will anchor the amusement park. The other is billed as the world’s fastest roller coaster, with a speed of up to 125 mph that is intended to simulate the feeling of driving a Ferrari F1 racing car.
The roller coasters are two of 20 rides and attractions set for the amusement park, which opens on Yas Island here later this year. The Ferrari GT theme is not only carried on via the roller coaster, but also in the roof of the enclosed theme park. The roof is inspired by the “classic double-curve side profile” of the Ferrari GT.
Inside Line says: Forget your local state fair. The roller coaster rides alone justify the trip to Abu Dhabi.

The European Union’s highest court has ruled that Google Inc. does not infringe company trademark rights when it sells advertising through its Google AdWords service.
The ruling, which came down early Tuesday, was in response to LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA’s claim that Google shouldn’t be allowed to sell advertisements on search pages that result from a user inputting a company’s name into a query. LVMH claimed that Google, along with the advertiser, was liable for trademark infringement.
The European Court of Justice said that Google is merely a provider of advertisements, not a company infringing trademark rights. The court ruled that only advertisers are liable for infringing a trademark, and not the company providing a place for ads.
The main issue some companies have with Google’s AdWords platform is that competitors can advertise their own products whenever the respective company’s name is input into Google Search. LVMH argued that it alone should be able to control ads related to its brand.
